Breast Cancer Support: New
organization brings support to the victims of Breast Cancer
Lisle, IL. Aug. 14th, 2010 – The
Jayne and Donna Breast Cancer Fund, Inc. is proud to
announce the 1st annual “Grillin’ for our Girls” BBQ cook-off
and silent auction to be held at Community Park in Lisle,
IL. Aug. 14th, 2010. Tickets for this event are on sale now
through our website or by calling the number below. Admission
includes all you can eat BBQ from any or all the professional
and amateur cooks including corn on the cob, baked beans, bread
and more. Entertainment for this event is being provided by
Trio, Back Ally Band and Chicago blues recording artist, Sharon
Lewis. Don’t leave the kids at home on this day. There will be
games, jumping gym, face painting, clowns and enough hot dogs
and cheeseburgers to keep them happy for the day.
The goal of this fund raiser is to bring immediate help and
support to the men and women who suffer from breast cancer now.
Although research is most important to finding a cure for future
victims of this disease, we at The
Jayne and Donna Breast Cancer Fund, Inc. believe there
is a more infinite need to help those in current crisis. All
proceeds from this event will be donated to Breast Cancer
Society, Gilda’s Club of Chicago, IL. and Sisters Network, Inc.
of Chicago, IL. These are three hands on, street level, grass
roots organizations that provide help and hope to both men and
women who need it the most and are beyond the help of research.
Steve Marney,
President of the organization says, “The statistics are
staggering! One out of every eight women who live to the age of
85 will develop breast cancer sometime in their life. If you
have not lost someone you love to breast cancer yet, you will in
the future.” He goes on to say, “It’s about time that men get
more involved in raising funds to help our precious women and
ourselves. Our wonderful women have been active for many years
with the Susan G. Kolman Walk, the Relay for Life and many other
breast cancer fund raising activities. Now we have the “Grillin’
for our Girls” fund raiser. This is a way for us men to say,
we’re with you, ladies!”
This event has brought out the best in corporations, companies,
and individuals with sponsorships and silent auction donations.
